We believe that a beautiful garden has the capacity to brighten even the hardest hearts just as much as they brighten the landscape. Luckily for you, Hudson Valley has no shortage of pristine gardens and our Westchester Limo Service knows just where to go. Having operated in the region for years now, there is no better guide in your quest to visit Hudson Valley gardens than our Westchester Car Service. Our experienced chauffeurs will drive you safely and promptly to any one of these locations, making your experience even more enjoyable. Kick off your spring season the right way and take in all the colors and fragrances.

Lyndhurst

Head over to Lyndhurst, which is a spectacular Gothic estate that is a classic example of 19th Century architecture. Here you will find a beautiful rose garden with over 100 unique rose species designed to form a circle. You will also get to enjoy a vast fern garden and, right next to it, you will find the rock garden. There is also an 1870 conservatory greenhouse that was the world’s largest privately owned greenhouse back in the day.

Olana

This was home of famous Hudson Valley artist Fredric Edwin Church. These gardens sit 500 feet above Hudson Valley so visitors have to use a carriage to get there, which is quite delightful. The gardens around Fredric’s home were established in 1880 and are adorned with roses, sweet alyssum, peonies, bee balm, dahlias, nasturtiums, and cosmos. The meadows slope gracefully towards the river forming a beautiful carpet of wild flowers during spring.

Locust Grove

Locust Grove is massive 200-acre estate that showcases a 20th century Italian villa that was built in 1851 for inventor Samuel Morse. The mansion here features 19th Century furniture that has been left virtually untouched and numerous exhibits of Morse’s artistry and inventions. But what we’re really interested in is the half-acre garden flooded with the largest collection of peonies in Hudson Valley. You may also be interested in the Heritage Vegetable Garden, which is equally impressive with its vast collection of fruits and vegetables.

Storm King Art Center

At Storm King Art Center you will find over 500 acres of woodlands, rolling fields, native grasses, and wild flowers. This beautiful scenery is further complemented by over 100 contemporary art sculptures.  Here, visitors are free to explore the one-of-a-kind outdoor gallery that displays the works of popular artists such as Alexander Calder, David Smith, Alexander Liberman, Mark di Suvero, Alice Aycock, Henry Moore, and Louise Nevelson.

Mountain Top Arboretum

At Mountain Top Arboretum you will find native trees, wildflowers, and shrubs. The beautiful thing about this landscape is that these plants have been collected from all around the world. This includes 8 varieties of mountain ash, 8 distinct species of flowering crab apples, flowering shrubs, and red and yellow-twigged dogwoods. The arboretum also has a pond filled with aquatic plants, a rock garden, and nature trails that cut through nearby Catskill mountain woods.
