4 Great Locations in Westchester County to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

Excitement is in the air in Westchester County; everyone knows what time of the year it is, and the day is fast approaching. How are you going to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year? There is a lot of talk concerning events geared at celebrating the Celtic holiday in Westchester, but no one seems to be speaking of the best bars and restaurants where one can head to for a dose of Irish heritage when they are simply looking for a relaxed and comfortable ambiance.

Well, not to worry, our Limo Service in Hudson is here for that very purpose and more. Remember that St. Patrick’s Day is about having fun the Irish way, not about driving. You can count on us to drive you to your destination safely, in comfort and style as we provide the fastest and the most luxurious way to get around. No matter how you choose to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, Westchester Car & Limo would like to make your day special.

Here are some of the best bars and restaurants in Westchester County where you can celebrate St. Paddy’s Day.

McSorley’s Old Ale House

Head over to McSorley’s, which is said to be the oldest tavern in New York City. This establishment has remained virtually unchanged in over one and a half centuries having been established in 1854. The floors are still covered in sawdust and only two kinds of beers are served - McSorley's Light Ale and McSorley's Dark Ale, just as it was when the establishment first opened its doors. Note, however, a line forms at the bar long before it opens at 8 am on St. Paddy’s Day, so you might want to arrive at least one hour before you plan on trying their ale.

Plaza Food Hall

The Plaza Food Hall is located on Fifth Avenue near Central Park. This eatery is open every day between 8 am and 10 pm. The Hall offers special Irish dishes on St. Patrick’s Day including classics such as corned beef sandwiches with pickled cabbage, gruyere cheese, and Thousand Island dressing with malt vinegar kettle chips. Plaza Food also offers guests special Irish draft beers; the Long Ireland Celtic Ale and O'Hara's Irish Stout as well as five different whiskey specials. Reservations are required at the Plaza Food Hall, so call ahead before all the spaces are booked for St. Patty’s Day.

The Dead Rabbit

The Dead Rabbit was established by two Irishmen in the Financial District back in 2013. The bar offers some of the best cocktails you will ever enjoy and to prove this, the bar was named the ‘World’s Best Cocktail’ only three years after it opened its doors. The Dead Rabbit is currently the most visited bar in New York according to TripAdvisor. The bar has also recently launched its own brand of whiskey, right on time for St. Patrick’s Day, so go out and try it.

The Landmark Tavern

The Landmark Tavern is located on 11th Avenue and opens every day between 11 am and 4 pm. This establishment is almost as old as McSorley’s, having been established in 1868. Although the tavern is usually packed on St. Paddy’s Day, guests are seated right away waiting to be served. This coupled with the excellent service at the establishment gives the Irish Pub and Restaurant a calm ambiance that is perfect for anyone not looking for a drunken or rowdy celebration on St. Patrick’s Day.
