Best Art Museums in New York City

You have probably heard of the Guggenheim and the Metropolitan Art museums, which are some of the most popular museums across the United States. However, this is just a tip of the iceberg when it comes to art museums in the Big Apple. New York is studded with numerous other art museums and our Westchester car service wants to educate you, so to speak, on where to find some of these centers of knowledge.

For easier access to these museums, we recommend that you employ the service of our New York limo service; our experienced chauffeurs have vast knowledge and experience navigating the busy New York streets and will drive you and your companions to one or several of these museums in a safe and expedient manner. Simply sit back, enjoy the ride, and look forward to your next stop.

The New York Historical Society is located in 77th Street near Central Park West. The Historical Society offers guests a collection of items that reveal much of the city’s history. The collection at this historical museum includes paintings, decorative lamps, furniture, and the Dimenna Children's History Museum.

Museum of the City of New York

This NYC museum has been exhibiting art, photos, and objects that make up New York’s history ever since it was established by Henry Collins in 1923 at the Gracie Mansion. The museum has a collection of more than 75,000 artifacts including 19th Century printmaking machines, classic Broadway scripts, art works of artists such as Marcel Duchamp, Carrie Walter’s 12-room dollhouse, and so much more. Plan a visit for the MCNY today and head over to 5th Ave in East Harlem. Admission is only $10 per person.

Museum of Modern Art

The Museum of Modern Art is extremely popular to New Yorkers. The museum was founded in 1929 and has since been dedicated exclusively to contemporary art in a variety of forms including paintings, sculptures, design, film, and media. As a treat to its guests, the museum hosts special events for families with kids below the age of four, making it the most family-friendly option on our list. The Museum of Modern Art is located in the Midtown East neighborhood.

Queens Museum and Educational Centre

As the name suggests, you will find the Queens Museum at the Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens. This museum has been around for over four decades and is a cultural gem housed in a building that was built specifically for the World Fair in 1939 and briefly used as the headquarters of the UN General Assembly. The museum currently has a collection of fine arts dating all the way back to the late 1930s. Admission at the museum is only $8 per person, so there is absolutely no reason why you are missing out on this experience.
