Best Westchester events and traditions for a Happy Easter

Easter weekend should be filled with candy, egg hunts, and activities of all kinds. Here are some of the best ways that kids and adults in the Westchester area can spend Easter weekend.

Onatru Farm Park Egg Hunt

This egg hunt is open to kids eight and under. The event is held on April 13, and kids should bring a basket to store their candies and goodies. After participating in the egg hunt, kids can join in on other activities and watch the entertainment: a performance by Annie & The Natural Wonder Band. If they're on the lookout, they might also catch a glimpse of the Lewisboro Bunny!

City of Yonkers Easter Egg Hunt

This egg hunt is being held on April 15 at Redmond Field. It's open to kids ages four to ten, and kids are divided into groups based on age. Check to see which group your kid falls into before heading down to the hunt. Eggs are scattered throughout the field, and kids always love finding sweet treats at the annual event. Remember to bring your camera, as kids can take pictures with the Easter Bunny.

Egg Hunt with Wolves

If your kids don't seem interested in the standard egg hunt, they might get excited about this twist on the traditional formula. At the Wolf Conservation Center, kids first learn facts about North American wolves, ranging from their ecology to their biology. Then, they are given eggs to hide throughout the conservatory, which will later be found by three Ambassador Wolves. Kids are also given the opportunity to visit a few of the conservation center's wolves. This event is held on April 16.

Hugh Doyle Center Egg-stravaganza

This April 13 event is sure to be fun for the whole family. It starts with a traditional egg gathering. Kids can then participate in springtime crafts and listen to Easter stories in the storytelling area. There is also a face-painting booth where kids can get their faces painted with a range of seasonal images. Registration is required, so get your kids signed up before space runs out.

Tuckahoe Village Easter Egg Hunt

This egg hunt, which is being held on the Saturday before Easter, is located on the Parkway Oval Field. The hunt is open to kids ages one through nine, and your little ones are sure to enjoy running around the field, basket in hand, looking for egg-shaped treasures. The event, which begins at 11 am, also features a great local DJ. If you and your family get hungry, you can find something to eat at one of the participating food vendors.
