Best Things to do for Mother's Day in Westchester

Mother’s Day is almost here. This is the time to really pamper your mom or mother of your kids for a day, showing your appreciation for all that she has done and continues to do. This is an especially pretty time of year in Westchester County. Consider taking your loved one to some of the beautiful local outdoor spots on Sunday or even Saturday. Travel in style and comfort using a Westchester limo service. Here are some ideas for the day.

Paramount Hudson Valley

The Paramount Hudson Valley Theater in Peekskill is a Westchester County landmark that first opened in June of 1930. Since 2013 it has been hosting top-notch musical and theatrical performances. Mother’s Day weekend is packed with events. Friday night, 10 time Grammy winners The Manhattan Transfer will celebrate 45 years of musical performance. On Saturday, stand-up comedian Brian Regan will perform. And on Sunday, it is a throw-back to the 1960s with the Kingston trio. You might consider making a weekend of it. Tickets are available here.

Caramoor

Walter and Lucie Rosen visited the Caramoor estate in 1928 and were immediately captivated by the Mediterranean style home and gardens. They purchased the estate and made it their summer home. Today, the house, fine art collection, and gardens are open to the public. The grounds and house serve as a music venue, including a Mothers and Others Tea Musicale that takes place on Mother’s Day weekend. Tickets for the tea can be purchased for the tea at $60 per adult and $43 per child.

There is a suggested donation of $10 to stroll the 90 acres of gardens. These include a sunken garden, a sense circle, a butterfly garden, and an iris and peony garden. The gardens are vibrant in spring.

Red Door Spa

What mom wouldn’t like to be pampered at a top-notch spa on Mother’s Day? The distinctive Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa, located at The Westchester Mall in White Plains, is open on Mother’s Day from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM. They have gift certificates for spa packages ranging from $99 up to $495. You and the kids can enjoy an upscale shopping experience while mom is relaxing and getting a fabulous makeover. She will be ready for a nice dinner out, looking her best. Spa packages and gift certificates can be found on the website.

Bedford Post Inn

A great way to end your day is with a meal at the Bedford Post Inn Baldanza Restaurant. They are offering a special 3 courses, fixed price, and elegant Mother’s Day menu from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. This beautiful historic inn and barn, situated in the sleepy town of Bedford, has fine and casual dining, lodging, and a yoga studio. The property was restored by Richard Gere and his partners in 2007.

Some featured dishes for Sunday are roasted beet salad, grilled Ora king salmon, and coconut cake. Make sure to have some champagne with your meal to celebrate. And don't forget to have our chauffeured Westchester car service lined up to get you and mom safely and efficiently to and from your special dining experience.
