Master Guide to Westchester Christmas Lights Tours and Displays

Even though most of us would not care to admit, Christmas arrives when the cold weather sets in. This is because our brains somehow just switch into the holiday mood. But why not? This is one of the most special times of the year, and with the right people next to you, you can turn it into something magical.

Amidst all the hot chocolate, red and white decorations, nothing kindles the Christmas spirit as much as the lights. There is something about Christmas lights that make the season brighter, happier, and more enchanting. As a matter of fact, since this is an old tradition that started ages ago whereby people would light up a Yule-log to signify that hope is coming with the end of winter.

In the same cheerful and glimmering spirit, our New York Ground Transportation Service has compiled a special list that features one of the most charming light displays in Westchester. Take a look and see what you almost missed out on.

North Kensico Christmas Lights Show in White Plains

This is a residential Christmas light show in Westchester that has won the hearts of both locals and tourists. Started by Chuck Barringer in 2005, every year he puts on a show featuring 10,000 dazzling lights that are synced with a Christmas playlist. Visitors can tune in to channel 107.7 FM once at the property then watch and listen as the colorful display dances to the music. With every fifth song on the playlist, you will notice a video of a virtual Santa playing music in an attic window.

Visitors can easily see and enjoy all the fun from the road, but you have the option to go on the backyard and take a photo with Santa, have a cup of hot chocolate if you are in the mood, and also enjoy the model train. There is a website for activities and events, but the light show runs every day from sun set.

Keeler Christmas Lights Display

Located in nearby Putnam Valley, this lights display features over 750,000 lights with over 200,000 installed this year alone. That means if you were there last year, things just got brighter. Visit the site to see the lit-up train and Santa on the yard, the chimney, and on the roof.. There are 12 new inflatables on the property this year and a Santa’s workshop. It is open to the public up to January 1st between 6 and 10pm.

Erdajt Christmas Light Display

Erdajt Christmas Light display is located in nearby Dutchness County on Patrick Drive and it makes this list because if possible, you cannot afford to miss it. It has been running since 1995 and last year alone, the charitable display managed to raise $270,000.

The display has won several awards from the Guinness World Book of Records for the highest number of lights on a residential property. The display currently features more than half a million lights that have been synchronized with over 200 Christmas carols that you can listen to by tuning into channel 95.3 when near the property.
