Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center,
Head over to Yorktown Heights to the Hilltop Hannover Farm, an environmental education facility and farm that features demonstrations for animal and pet management, backyard farming, rainwater harvesting, green-roof technology, and organic composting. After you have learned all you can, enjoy a nice 3.5-mile hike in the farm’s woodlands. Bring food from home and enjoy a picnic on the property after your hike. Some of the events at the farm require advanced tickets, so log in to their website, identify an event you might be interested in and make your reservations ahead of time.
Our Liberation Summit
This event takes place at the Sarah Lawrence College on 3rd of February from 8am to 6pm. The purpose of this event is to discuss issues of race, class, gender identity, religion, sexuality, ability, and other social issues affecting society today. A lot of people hold back when these topics arise, and this will be a perfect chance to discuss them in a safe, non-judgmental environment. This conference will create an opportunity for everyone who is interested in matters of social identity and social justice to learn and express themselves. This will be the first annual event of its kind and was inspired by Lila Watson, an aboriginal activist and educator from Australia. If you have always wanted to make a change but you have never really been sure where to start, this might just be the place. Tickets go for $12 per head that will cater for lunch; however, participants will have to make their own arrangements for accommodation and travel.
